Creating with a focus on an unwavering expression of shared human feelings.
Harnessing ethical production methods and with an intense focus on color, I’m an artist entangled in multiple mediums. I predominately gravitate towards painting, photography, and poetry. However, you’ll also find me naturally dyeing textiles (using plants + insects) and incorporating found objects… resulting in mixed media assemblages.
When creating, I strive to clearly express universal feelings such as joy, grief, innocence, inadequacy, happiness, and guilt; with everything rooted-in personal experience and intensely visual memories. Do you remember how you felt when you learned about death? What the room looked like in that moment? The time you got the exact, perfect gift you desired? When the sunlight felt different after falling out of love?
In my work across mediums, you will find symbolism, compelling abstractions, and a composition which tells the story of the artistic elements, materials, and their connection to an emotion we’re all feeling (or have felt strongly at one time).
Beyond my artistic ambition, I’m leveraging professional experience and building courageously as an entrepreneurial and cultural leader in NYC, the place I call home.
In terms of experience, I had a successful five-year career in growth marketing, where at the apex I was managing a budget of ~$10mm/month for one of the most-popular consumer apps in North America. During my time working in this field, I had the privilege of intimately learning how to build and scale multiple business from scratch.
Recently, I used some of these skills to help bring B Scene Zine, a local zine celebrating real art and artists of the East Village, to thousands of artists and art appreciators.
And in terms of building, I founded soiree henzo, a event-based community connecting artists+creators and getting them paid. It’s a daunting journey for many to go from exclaiming, “I love this!” to making “this” how they support their ideal lifestyle. I hope the soiree henzo community can provide support throughout this journey. To date, there have been 16 soirees brimming with masterful visual art, music, and real culture. The community is completely independent and self-funded; we keep it going through donations. All are welcome and events are hosted around New York City with past locations including: my East Village apartment on St. Marks, Lucky on Ave B, Revision Lounge & Gallery, The 466 (@the466bk), Empire DAO, and Lavan Chelsea.
That’s a bit about me and what I’m doing. What’s next?
I’m continuing to aggressively pursue my passions while building a global brand based in NYC. I’m also working in the background on exciting, small projects that have the potential to become much bigger.
If you see the vision or want to learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I feel it’s time to collaborate and increase my impact by joining forces with the equally passionate. Let’s do it. The Renaissance of Reconnecting is now.
